Harold Williams, left, was appointed to the Maryland Public Service Commission in 2002 and currently holds the position of Commissioner. Prior to his appointment, Commissioner Williams' tenure spanned almost twenty (20) years with the Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) Company. In his capacity as Director of Corporate Procurement Services, he was responsible for the overall management of goods and services for Information Technology Department, Retail Services Division, Facilities & Fleet Service Department and Corporate Purchases. Williams directed BGE's Procurement Opportunity Program (POP) Minority and Women Business Program for 10 years and was responsible for developing and propelling BGE's Program to national recognition. Commissioner Williams has served as Chairman of the Edison Electric Institute's Minority Business Development Committee, and the Department of Energy's Minority Business Roundtable Committee. In his capacity as Procurement Administrator for BGE, Commissioner Williams coordinated and directed project contracts for the construction of a $400 million Brandon Shores Power Plant.
Commissioner Williams graduated Magna cum Laude from Coppin State College with a degree in Management Science and holds a Masters Degree in Administrative Science with a concentration in Human Resource Development from The Johns Hopkins University. Commissioner Williams is married and has three adult children. (All Commissioners)
