Down with Global Warming and Opulence

In the book What Would Google Do by Jeff Jarvis he explains that if Google ran a car company we would all have access to the car we need when we need it by becomming a member of a car sharing company (like time sharing with vacation homes). This way you can tell the car company you need a truck when you have to pickup trees to landscape your garden; you would order a limo for your special events; you would order a sports car for your weekend driving; you would order a luxury car for a night on the town; and you would order a small electic or hybrid to commute to work.
With this in mind I also suggest the vehicle registration law be modified to charge more if the vehicle has high emissions. This would be a quadrupple win. Comsumers would be motivated to drive low emission vehicles more often which would save on their fuel expenses, save on their registration and put less pollution and green house gasses in the air.
