Zac Olumegbon murder: Four teenagers jailed for life, South London - 21st Dec 2011

Four teenagers have been jailed for life for murdering a pupil outside the gates of his school.

Zac Olumegbon, 15, from Brixton, south London, was stabbed to death in front of Park Campus School in West Norwood, south London, in July 2010.

Helder Demorais, 18, Ricardo Giddings, 17, Jamal Moore, 17, and Kyle Kinghorn, 18, were found guilty of murder at the Old Bailey last month.

They were given minimum tariffs ranging from 14 to 18 years.

'Pack of hounds'

A fifth teenager received a 12-year sentence for manslaughter.

The Old Bailey heard that within moments of being hounded down, Zac lay dying on his back in the garden of a house just yards from the school.

He had been stabbed four times, two of the wounds piercing his heart.

The four murderers were all given life sentences, with Giddings told he would serve a minimum term of 18 years, Kinghorn and Demorais 16 years each and Moore 14 years.

Shaquille Haughton, 16, was found guilty of manslaughter and was detained for eight years with an additional four years for wounding Zac's friend, making a total of 12 years.

The youths, who were all from south London, all had a previous conviction for having a bladed article. Read More
