Five people, including two children, perished when a small plane plummeted into the middle of one of New Jersey's busiest highways, exploding violently as it crashed to the ground.

Jeffrey Buckalew, 45, and Rakesh Chawla, 36 - heads of a New York City investment firm - died when the aircraft spiraled out of control and crashed on Route 287 in the town of Harding, New Jersey.

Mr Buckalew's wife, Corinne, and their two children, Jackson and Meriwether, were also on board the plane that was seen losing a wing before it crashed. Read More
