Jack Connor Clarke: Tragedy of student who killed himself just before finding out he had secured grades - 23rd Dec 2011

A student worried about his exam results jumped to his death days before securing the grades he needed to go to university.

Jack Connor Clarke, 18, leapt from the top floor of a multi-storey car park last August after confiding to Facebook friends that he couldn’t face the shame of exam failure.

Two weeks after the tragedy, his results were revealed and, tragically, he would have earned the place he wanted studying philosophy at the University of Manchester.

Jack, of Wakefield, West Yorkshire, had scored an A in English, a B in history and a C in biology.

An inquest at Wakefield Coroner’s Court on Tuesday heard how a witness saw Jack throw himself off the car park roof in Wakefield.

Jack, who was a bass player with rock band Astro Circus and had just finished recording their album, suffered fatal trauma injuries. Read More
